The house

An old harbor house, brought slowly back to life

We bought a tired stone building two streets back from the water, kept everything worth keeping, and turned it into the kind of place we always wanted to stay in ourselves.

Our story

We built the hotel we kept wishing existed

Roam started with a simple frustration. We loved to travel and we hated most hotels: the fluorescent lobbies, the front desk reading from a screen, the breakfast that came out of a packet. So we restored a fourteen-room house in the old harbor quarter and ran it the way we would want to be hosted, by people who actually live here.

Nothing about Roam is mass produced. The beds are made up with real linen, the art is from painters down the lane, and the coffee comes from a roaster three doors over. We keep the house small on purpose, because the best part of a stay is the feeling that someone is genuinely glad you came.
